Family Life Forum 2023

The Ghras Association for Community Development organized the Third Family Life Forum with the participation of 40 humanitarian organizations from around the world and the presence of more than 500 prominent figures and activists in the humanitarian field. This year, the forum was held under the slogan: “Caring for Families Who Have Lost Their Breadwinner in Areas of War, Disasters, and Crises — Towards Better Recovery.” The forum’s activities included seminars, panel discussions, and training courses focusing on crisis response, as well as pathways for early, medium, and long-term recovery. It also showcased firsthand experiences and lessons learned presented by local, Arab, and international organizations. The sessions further addressed strategies for financing, marketing, media, and communication in support of recovery processes. In addition, a specialized training course on Family Life Well-being was delivered by Mr. Salah Al-Yafai, aimed at equipping humanitarian workers with tools for effective response and planning to face challenges. Participants emphasized that recovery begins with what individuals and communities do immediately after a disaster, relying on their own experiences, resources, and capacity to rebuild their lives and strengthen resilience against future crises.
